"So they know now?" Jacob said when he saw the letter that the family had written to him asking if the news of Melody's return was true. He was tempted to tell them that it was nothing but a rumor but they would eventually meet her at some point. For people who used to fawn over her family, they didn't seem happy that she had returned, alive and not dead as they had thought. "Hypocrites," he said and placed the letter aside.
He stood up and walked to the window and looked outside with his behind him. Now that Melody's return has become known, everything will change. All that he had planned in the past has been rendered useless and he needed new plans.
"How could they accept a little girl so easily? What if she is a fake? I have been trying to get up there for five years but they wouldn't allow it," Jacob asked himself. There was great annoyance in his countenance as he thought about how everything was going.
