Damian and Diana got to Damian's mansion and walked to his study. Sister Beatrice brought in some snacks for them and then left the two siblings. Seeing Diana there was a surprise. The Young Miss lived alone or sometimes just stayed in the main mansion, she didn't need to stay with anyone.
"Why didn't you tell me that you liked my best friend?" Diana began after the door was shut. She was happy to see that her two favorite people were together but she was also angry with them for keeping her in the dark. They knew she would have been happy for them or even helped Damian out when he was still courting Melody.
"Because I didn't want you to get involved," Damian replied. He pushed the plate with the snacks closer to her so she would find it easier to pick out of and not stretch her arm. "I wanted to do it my way," he said.
