Lady Jevera opened her mouth to speak when the doors threw open and Jael walked in. Mauve felt her heart skip and she immediately sat straighter but she wasn't the only one trying to adjust her appearance.
Lady Jevera and Lady Sabrina's expressions quickly changed to something brighter and they raised their heads to smile at Jael.
Everybody rose to their feet while Mauve remained seated. Helana glowered hard at her but Mauve was unfazed. Considering how anxious, she felt standing up was completely out of the question.
The other vampires didn't seem to care to look in her direction and she realized that she would rather be ignored. Lady Helana's attention was not needed.
Jael walked briskly and took his seat. His eyes rested on her immediately and Mauve immediately looked away before her face would expose her.

"Sire."
