"Ferdinand, you truly went through all that?"
"No. I'm strong, why would something like that happen," Ferdinand's eyes were elsewhere as he replied. He was trying to deny it because he did not want to seem weak.
"Ferdinand, I just want to know the truth. I won't be able to stop thinking about it after having such a long dream," Arabella pushed.
[Right. It must be bothering her.]
"I, I did. But it's so long ago. I vaguely remember the details. I only recalled most of it now that you told me about your nightmare in detail," Ferdinand said like it was nothing.
"Oh, my goodness! You really went through something so horrible," Arabella's eyes welled up all on their own as she thought about how painful and traumatic all of those must have been.
[Is she crying for me?] Ferdinand was conflicted about how he should feel. It made him happy that she was crying for his sake. But it made him feel bad seeing her cry like this.
