After a day of trying to make it through meetings without falling asleep, Varya was able to finally return to her quarters. She hadn't heard from the prince all day and she was anxious to see him.
She had been running on autopilot, trying to give everyone the best version of herself but the facade was slowly crumbling the more tired she became. When Ebari attended a meeting with her and saw how she was doing, he told her she should head back early and get some rest.
Servants had already organized dinner for the family and they were putting it on the table when Varya and Galen arrived. They bowed politely at their ruler and made themselves scarce the moment everything was in order.
Basil ran up to his mom and she picked him up, giving him a tight hug, his face hiding in the crook of her neck as they embraced.
"Solana," Varya gave the nanny a pleasant smile before taking her son to the table and putting him in the high chair that had been taken out for him. "How was he today?"
