Ebari woke up slowly to a dimly lit room, almost forgetting about the previous night until he felt the warmth of Varya at his side.
The situation with Kruos made him feel miserable but the support of his dearest friend allowed him to continue. He wasn't meaning to test her loyalty but seeing her by his side after he went through something hard meant more to him than she could ever realize.
He felt thirsty and tried to sit up but the pinching feeling in his chest kept him from moving. Instead, he found resting his arm across his stomach and propelling himself up with his abdominal muscles to be the easiest method.
He was surprised to see Galen asleep in the chair by his door. Ebari wondered if he had been saying nonsense to him after he found him, enough to make the guard worry.
Ebari moved silently through his room and to the kitchen to grab a drink. His throat was dry and he felt like a wilted plant returning to life after quenching his thirst.
