Dr. Brie wondered for a moment if he should feel bad that Varya had trusted him with so little. She had told him about her time on Earth and the things she had accomplished academically but anything else was vague. He hadn't realized she had lived such a life in her twenty-some-odd years.
He sat up straight and let go of her hand when she started talking again. He could tell she was nervous.
"Dr. Salus has kept all my secrets for me," Varya explained. "It has gone so much farther than doctor and patient confidentiality. I want to be honest with you so you and Dr. Salus don't have to keep secrets from one another."
"I appreciate that," Dr. Brie said with a shy smile at the mention of the other doctor.
Since Varya had brought them back into each other's lives, things had only been progressing. They had even been thinking of purchasing one of the rooms in the new development so it was close to the labs and the hospital being built.
