Varya left the prince, feeling light on her feet for the rest of the day.
Something about being surprised by his presence in the middle of the day made her in a much better mood. She wished they worked closely with one another but she knew she wouldn't be able to hold back if she saw him more frequently in front of other people.
She didn't know what had changed in her. Back on Earth, if a man acted so obsessed with her, she would have been disgusted by their clinginess and ran in the opposite direction. Yet she found herself completely enthralled by the man she got to share a bed with every evening and showed no signs that he hated her obsession with him.
It only spurred her to act that way when he intensely returned the feelings. His possessiveness and jealousness eased her heart. She went through a lot to try and make sure he was comfortable in their relationship and not feeling neglected enough to get jealous again.
