Beep… Beep… Beep.
Even though he had been there for a week, Ebari hadn't completely gotten used to the constant noise of the machines. Normally he preferred silence while he slept but he could try to adjust if he had to.
How could he get used to the beeping? It was his only signal that Galen was still there. If one sounded different than normal or created a noise outside of the usual, he was up in an instant, full of worry that something was going wrong.
Yet each time there was an alert, it was because of an empty IV or a notification to routinely check the machines. At least it gave him fair warning that a nurse or doctor would come in soon to check on the guard as he remained unconscious.
As much as he wanted to hang onto Galen until he woke up, he knew that the secret of his sexuality was no longer only his secret to hide. Ebari didn't know if Galen wanted that side of himself to be out in the open. He wouldn't blame him if he didn't.
