"It's such an honor," Varya said in response. "I'm excited to work for you."
"I haven't had a recommendation from the emperor in a long time," Dr. Brie said while tapping the pen he held against his chin.
Varya smiled and bowed her head in respect for the scientist. Internally, she was wondering if it was Emperor Kruos helping her. She figured Ebari must have done something about it and she would have to ask him another time.
"I'll do my best to live up to Emperor Kruos's recommendation," Varya promised.
Dr. Brie nodded his head and typed a few more things into his computer before standing up and smiling. He was taller than Varya expected him to be - around six feet tall.
"First you need to get into the proper gear," the scientist explained. "Rank and status do not matter out here."
"I had heard that from someone before coming here," Varya responded. "I appreciate the neutrality."
