Laying next to Christopher, Rose felt shielded from the outside world, as if she were fully armored against those that would seek to hurt her.
Christopher could see Rose was very deep in thought. The night was frigid, and he could tell she was cold. Tiny goosebumps were rising on her arms. The situation made her seem so vulnerable.
Using the blanket as a barrier against the cold winter night, he wrapped them up in it. The Lord felt it would be cruel to ask her anything further about Maguns and did not care to dredge up any more of her past tonight. A kind of unknown emotion had arisen when he asked her earlier. He guessed it was shame she was displaying.
