Since early evening, the rain had fallen lightly, with its intensity picking up by the minute. Christopher and Onyx were heading back to the lodge when he noticed the horse was limping. Concerned that the stallion had something caught in his horseshoe, The Lord dismounted and inspected the horse's hoof.
During his examination of the steed's leg, Lord Thorn noticed that the spot where he had fractured his fetlock was swollen. His expression hardened at the sight of it. After seeing the current condition of his stallion's leg, Christopher's stomach twisted with anxiety, aware that something was seriously wrong with Onyx.
In order to avoid further injury to his trusty horse, Chris did not want to take any additional chances by riding him. Both he and the stallion would need to walk back to the lodge. Since he did not notice any problems during the hunt today, he wondered if the leg had been injured during the recent incident with the wolves.
