Kane's voice was full of enthusiasm as he remarked, "Fancy meeting you here, dear niece!" His words created a wave of warmth that replaced the awkward silence.
"Even though it has only been a couple of days, I have missed you and Giselle," said Rose. She hugged Kane tightly around his neck. The warmth of their reunion after missing him and Giselle for a past days overwhelmed her.
Kane pecked her lightly on the cheek. "We've both been thinking of you, little Lark."
Christopher's expression hardened as he fixed Kane with an icy gaze.
"How did you manage to find us?"
"It was Raphael. He came to me directly, and I could feel the tension emanating from him as he told me about Rose's injury. Then his subsequent experience after touching her. That's when I decided to come find you. Also, Raphael told me you had attempted to take to the skies on your own. I was shocked to hear that you had wings." He stated to his niece.
