"Well, it seems you are leading quite a hectic life lately. How is Giselle doing with all of this?" Rose inquired.
"With all this chaos, she has been very…. Nevermind." Lord Alexsander abruptly stopped speaking.
Rose cupped her elbow with one hand and tapped her lips with her other fingers, attentively waiting for her uncle to finish.
In his absent minded state he could feel the words 'Giselle is expecting' on the tip of his tongue, but he managed to stop himself. Kane wanted her to tell Rose the news since she was her family. He could feel in his heart that it was the right thing to do.
Suddenly, Lord Alexsander recalled the item he had brought for Rose. He slid his hand into his coat pocket and produced a white envelope sealed with wax. This gave him an opportunity to steer the current discussion in a different direction.
"This is for you. It almost slipped my mind. The letter is from Larson Milner. It was addressed to you via Northbrook."
