Deacon held his breath, his heart thumping in his rib cage as he anticipated her words.
When Giselle looked at him, his body was tight, and his breaths were coming in short, shallow bursts. She recognized his nervousness.
Giselle was tender as she placed her hands on both sides of his face and leaned in to give him a soft kiss on the cheek. She looked deep into his sapphire blue eyes, aware of the intensity in his gaze as she told him the news.
