Unexpectedly, Magnus was struck brutally in the chest by Christopher, the impact so forceful that he folded over, collapsing to the floor on his knees. The sudden shock incapacitated him. Each gasp of air was a struggle and burned his lungs. The discomfort in his chest was excruciating. He feared Christopher might have ruptured his heart.
Before Magnus could regain his footing and defend himself, he received another blow to the side of his head. This time, the pain caused tears to bubble up in his eyes. There was a loud ringing in his ears. Magnus' vision blurred, and he could no longer see clearly.
