The mood inside Northbrook was tense, yet somber. Kane decided to have Giselle stay in Deacon's room temporarily until the staff and servants could fix and clean up the mess that Christopher had caused while chasing Rose.
He took a seat in a chair outside of the room that Dr. Clayton was using to examine Giselle's wounds. At the sound of his wife's moans or screams, he would involuntarily flinch like a nervous feline.
The door to Deacon's room finally opened, and he saw an exhausted, blood-covered, Dr. Clayton emerge.
"I will need to consult two more physicians. I also require your help. Giselle is urgently in need of blood. The stab wound in her abdomen is causing her to hemorrhage."
He had been unaware she had suffered a stomach wound. Kane had only witnessed the fall.
