Rose was filled with awe as Christopher carefully presented her with the luxurious ice-blue velvet box.
He urged her to open it and see what was inside.
"Go on now, open it," he said. Gently.
Rose pushed on the hinged lid, and it popped up to reveal a gleaming round silver disk. The object had strange symbols and writing inscribed upon it.
Rose diverted her gaze from the present and glanced upwards. The moment their eyes met, the bright amber-hued eyes of hers connecting with his, a fire of emotion burned deep within her. Each time their gazes met, something stirred inside her.
Her words were barely audible as she spoke in a low murmur. "What is this?"
Christopher delicately handled the piece of jewelry, his fingers carefully picking it up before cradling the coin-sized trinket in the palm of his hand so that both of them could take a closer look.
