The Count turned to speak with Rose about visiting Northbrook. He knew she was already agitated, and it would be better to ask her. So she did not think he was making her do this.
"I have arranged for you to visit Northbrook today. I know it's last-minute notice. Sorry, we didn't discuss it, but do you still want to go? Or is there something else you would prefer?" Dante waited on Rose's response.
Rose put her face in her hands, rubbed her eyes, and sighed.
"Huh...! I will go to Northbrook. It will do me good to get away from here today."
"Splendid!"
The Count clapped his hands together and stood from the table to greet his guests.
"Hello, Lord Alexsander." Dante proffered his hand in welcome, and the men shook.
"Have a seat. Carrick, bring something to drink?" Dante said to the butler.
"No, thank you for the offer. We won't be here long. Good day, Contessas."
