"Giselle, you and Rose see what is going on inside," Kane said to his wife. His voice had a sense of urgency about it.
"Bryson and Christopher, come with me. We are going to have our hands full with Haydon. It will not be simple to subdue him."
The two women left the men. They knocked and slowly entered the humble wooden structure. It was a simple place, small and cozy. But right now, the air reeked with the metallic smell of salt and iron.
"Blood," said Giselle, looking behind her at Rose. "I wonder if his wife died in childbirth?"
"Hello?" Giselle called out and received no reply.
