Turning to face Rose, Kane formed a thought back to her. "Can you understand me when I do it?"
"Yes, I thought you knew I was a telepath." She cocked her head at Kane. Again, no words came from her mouth.
He finally spoke aloud. "I did. I just had not experienced it. How Fascinating."
"I can understand the child and his needs. That is how I knew he was not dead that day. It wasn't just the noises he made. I could hear him pleading for my help." Rose explained as they arrived at Sir Haydon's home.
"Where have you two been?" Giselle curiously asked her husband.
"We had an intruder to subdue. Don't worry, you're pretty head. Everything is okay. My men have taken charge of it." Kane smiled, pulled Giselle in his arms, and kissed her on top of her head.
Giselle could sense Kane was unsettled. It was in his body language. She also knew not to push him about it. Her Nightingale would sing his tell to her when he was ready.
