Ortiz was studying some files sitting in his office when he received a call from a familiar number. He placed down the file before glancing at the screen.
He immediately stood up to walk to the door. He locked it from the inside to prohibit anyone from barging in while he was on the call.
Walking to the other end of his office, he received the call.
"Hello"
"Hello sir! Good afternoon!" A man on the other end greeted.
But Ortiz was not interested in exchanging pleasantries.
"What have you found?" He came straight to the point.
"Sir, we have got our hands on Simpson's postmortem report. He was indeed poisoned by conotoxin, a pure form that is not available in the market easily.
I contacted all the suppliers but found nothing suspicious."
Ortiz pursed his lips. "So we are clueless?"
The man on the other end paused hesitatingly before he said, "For now at least."
