Madison Sanders was all red in the face as she seethed, "Don't compare my decision of marrying your father to the nonsense you are doing right now. I married your dad out of love.
But look at you. You don't even love her, Devon! You are acting stubborn, for god knows why. But we are not going to let you ruin your life because of your stubbornness!" She made it clear.
I pursed my lips in distaste and could feel how Devon's body reacted to her response.
"And you think I am going to let you dictate my life mom?"
Her expression suddenly changed as she said calmly. "Hasn't we done that until now, Devon?"
I sensed the air changing, but I couldn't read what it carried with it. So I remained silently attentive.
"No, you didn't dictate it. I allowed you to take decisions about my life because..." Devon abruptly stopped as if recalled something.
