"Elena? Elena are you there-"
I looked up through the misty eyes as Devon appeared at the door. His confused expression changed into something else as his face paled.
After taking in my state, his panicked grey eyes darted to the canvas in front of me, and they went wide in fear.
We stared at each other for a few stretched and tensed moments before he took a step forward. His actions were very cautious as if he was walking on a floor covered with glass shards.
"Elena... p-please calm down. I-"
"Who are you?" The question came in a bare whisper at first, as I couldn't find my voice.
But he must have read the movement of my lips as he stopped in his tracks. But remained silent.
"You are him, aren't you?" Fresh tears rolled down my cheeks as I searched for confirmation on his face.
I was greeted with disappointment to see his defence walls rising up and up and up to the height that I doubted I could jump over.
