I was waiting for Devon at the place he had told me to wait while dad and Joanna decided to go with Christine to take care of other arrangements like food tasting and collecting the wedding invitations.
I told Steve to go back to his uncle and spend some time with him because we were going back to Swindon after completing all the tasks on the list. I wanted him to spend his time with his uncle.
But before he went, I bought a few gifts for the old man and some medicines that he might need. Steve looked on the verge of breaking down when he saw the bags in my hands.
With Devon taking care of all the other expenses, I could afford to buy a few things from the fund I was trying to save for my car repair. Now that my car was repaired by Devon, I could use that fund for other things.
I didn't mention it to Joanna and dad just yet because I didn't want to make Steve uncomfortable in accepting those gifts. That was the least I could do for him and his uncle.
