Joanna caught a glimpse of Elena's laughing form as she stood with Christine and the people who she knew were Christine's friends. She had met those people before and found them kind.
Joanna left the hall with a satisfying smile on her face. She was genuinely happy for her best friend though she felt bad that Jimmy and Elena couldn't be together.
But how could one force something as unpredictable and intractable as love?
Joanna was walking through the corridor where only a couple of people were passing by, minding their own business. They were strangers, and thus she didn't bother with exchanging pleasantries with them.
When she was only a few metres away from the washroom, her eyes widened in pure shock, but no sounds managed to escape her lips before a hand covered her mouth tightly. A pair of hands dragged her inside one of the rooms at the venue, and nobody noticed.
