"Aunt Julianne? Is everything okay?" I reached for her hand across the bar only to realise that it was slightly trembling.
She blinked a few times before looking up, yet she avoided meeting my eyes.
"Erm yes. Don't worry. I... I think I should go now." She hurriedly tried to stand up, but I held onto her hand firmly.
"Elena..."
"I want to know what's wrong, aunt Julianne because clearly, something is bothering you a lot. And as a family, I want to know what it is.
Please, aunt, you can trust me and show me that you accept me as a part of your family."
Our eyes finally met as we stared at each other. Her eyes clouded with unshed tears as she slowly sat down again in her place.
Holding my hand tightly, she let loose of her bunds of patience, and everything she had held inside gushed out in the form of tears and sobs.
"Aunt Julianne, please! Don't cry. Tell me what is the problem and I promise I will try to help you." I assured her.
