Victor Sanders looked back at me with inscrutable expressions. I tried to peek into his mind, but he was a man with the strongest guards.
"Are you trying to comfort me, Elena?"
"Why not? Your son needs it and so do you."
He scoffed, amused by my answer. "You of all people should know that Victor Sanders never feels weak." He said proudly.
"Well, I didn't mention anything about being weak."
The corner of his lips twitched as he pointed his hard gaze at me.
"You should worry about yourself, Elena. Don't think that just because I haven't yet tried to get you off of my son's back and have agreed on a few things that you proposed, doesn't mean you can be someone to comfort me.
You are still unwelcomed and unwanted in my family, and one day, I will get you out of my son's life. I just have so much on my plate already that it is taking longer than I expected to get to you."
