Joanna was ready to leave for her brother's engagement party. Dressed in a teal green gown, she smiled at her reflection in the mirror. She was alone at her apartment as Jimmy had left early with Christine to attend to the guests.
Joanna grabbed the keys to her car before she left her apartment, bouncing on the balls of her heels in excitement.
Sitting inside her car, she dialled Steve's number. She thought of picking him up from his place though he said he would book a cab to the venue.
The phone rang, but he didn't pick up her call. She frowned while driving on the busy street.
She decided to directly go to his place. She already had an address. She reached there in fifteen minutes. Parking the car in the basement, she took the elevator to the floor where his apartment was.
The building was not well maintained or as fancy as the one Elena and Devon had their penthouse in, but it was clean and neat enough.
