Mu Yuze struggled to stuff He Juan into the back seat of the car before climbing in himself, cutting off the flow of rigid air from outside. His breaths escaped in ragged gasps, and fine beads of sweat formed over his damp forehead. Shuddering, he extended a trembling hand to turn up the heater, and soon the temperature inside the car began to rise.
But he couldn't even breathe a sigh of relief, for He Juan was still shivering and trembling as if he was still trapped in the snow.
Melted snowflakes clung to his quivering lashes, obscuring his silver eyes and rendering Mu Yuze unable to discern his emotions. Mu Yuze couldn't even tell if the water cascading down his face was the snow and tears. Feeling a pang in his heart, he tentatively reached out to grasp He Juan's hand, only to be shocked by its bone-chilling cold.
Goodness, it felt just like touching a block of ice!
