Nothing ever worked out for her. She was never that lucky. Zoe should have known. But then, it was late and there seems to be no one around until she turned on the light when she came into kitchen and nearly took a kick to the face. Zoe froze in her track, what the hell?
Shocked, her head didn't turn, but her eyes did and she saw Gabriel's bare foot that could have smacked her in the face. Perhaps, it must be the shame, but he quickly put down his feet and Zoe let out a sharp gasp, as if just realizing what could have happened. That kick could have left her with a bruise on the face, not to mention the pain.
Damn, she was lucky.
"Gabriel…." Zoe breathed, her heart panting in her throat.
"What are you doing here? I told you you should have a rest." He said, sounding winded.
"What about you? You should be asleep already."
"Yes, but…" And then it hit Zoe.
Oh no.
