"Because I don't want to have regrets!" Gabriel bellowed and there was a tense silence on the table. Zoe lost appetite but there was no more avoiding the conversation.
Gabriel took a deep breath before explaining, "I know that you're scared, but trust me, I have no idea what I'm doing either. But one thing is for sure, I don't want to leave with regrets. Zoe…." He reached across the table and took her hand expecting her to flinch away considering she was giving him the look.
However, the fight had already escaped from Zoe and she just let him do whatever he wanted.
He continued," I don't know what the future holds for us and I'm indeed going to leave and it's selfish of me to ask this of you, but can't we be together for the time being?"
