"This is it," Jackson gestured to his room and Zoe had to admit she was a bit jealous. Even a mobster's assistants get to live in a room that was more spacious than her whole apartment put together.
At least, even though her place was small, she had a comfortable home to return to, unlike the motel she was now living in. Zoe knew deep down that it was impossible but she wished that this moment would never end - that she could find a warm bed to sleep in every night.
But then, welcome to reality. Come tomorrow morning, they would go different ways once he redeems his phone, that is if he doesn't kill her.
"I don't know if it's up to your taste….?"
Zoe turned to look at him and found him scratching the nape of his neck awkwardly as he explained, "We just moved in yesterday and haven't done anything. The property is the same as it was bought, but the cleaners made sure it was tidy."
