He wouldn't feel a thing for her situation, Gabriel decided. He would be cold and apathetic towards her. He was not a good Samaritan. And just because he knew her background made no difference. Lots of people were born into money, only to become poor in the end. That was life. It dealt with each person differently.
Look at him, he had all the money that he could ever ask for, yet he had no freedom and couldn't socialize freely like every other person. His movements were always made with guards and monitored, there was no privacy at all. So yeah, he had his problems too and one of them involved retrieving his phone.
He watched as Zoe squatted down on the floor and began to go through her luggage. Was that the only thing she owned, Gabriel couldn't help but wonder.
