"Why are you still wearing those old clothes?" Su Wen questioned. Her tone was a mix of disbelief and frustration.
"I can wear anything at home!" retorted her sister. To her family, wearing new clothes at home seemed extravagant, especially when there was work to be done. The idea of pampering oneself with new clothes didn't resonate with them.
They would wear the new clothes when going out.
