Bee told him all the informations he got from the villages around and the county town which made Xiao Ling get the general idea of this world....tho the informations was to Yucheng county and the villages and nearby counties it was enough for him to understand how he can survive here.
" For now I'll try and talk to Brother YanZhi first, since I can't run from here or I'll be a fugitive with my sale deeds with him and I can't have that. I don't even know what he'd do to me when I try to escape, so I'll start with negotiations first. Try to tail him and find out about him, where he goes and what he does....Bee, I don't need to remind you to be careful"
" Yes master, I'll tail him from the shadows and discreetly"

Xiao Ling hummed and watched Bee disappeared back into the shadows...Xiao Ling stared into empty space.
He decided to check out his skills after he was done washing and drying the clothes, Xiao Ling headed to the foot of the mountain and made sure no one had seen him before he followed the paved path into the mountain. He walked deep to the middle where the villagers wouldn't dare come to except some hunters in other to avoid being seen....but unknown to him he was being watched the moment he stepped foot into the mountain. Xiao Ling activated his passive skill about some meters around in other to stay alert to the danger of the animals and people as he hunted a hare since he needed a corpse to summon a skeleton,
" come forth my soldier.. "
the corpse of the hare vanished which was replaced with a skeleton soldier, Xiao Ling stared intently at the summoned skeleton as if in deep thought
" hmm...it doesn't look very strong but this will do for now and it looks like I can summon up to 5 skeletons for now. Shadow clone "
Under Xiao Ling's feet his shadow birthed a clone which rised in a form of a man
" master it's been a while....are you going to give me your body now "
Xiao Ling sneered disdainfully at the clone and in disgust
" you're as creepy as always, it seems your level is also decreased and so is your rank " said Xiao Ling in a very disgusted tone making the clone laugh in a creepy and sinister way
" Master, what order do you have for me now? " asked the clone
" for now.... nothing. Return for ... "
" master don't you feel the we're being watched? "
the clone asked as it slowly watched around them on guard but couldn't find anyone peeking or watching them
" you feel it too right?....but there's no one here except for the animals who aren't even bothering with me "
Xiao Ling was already on guard when he felt it...but his passive skill wasn't picking up anything with ill intension against him
" return for now "
the clone went back into his shadow as he ordered.
" open dungeon "
a dark portal gate appeared in front of him, Xiao Ling walked in with the skeleton soldier following him in. He searched through the dungeon which was reduced to level 1 with not much in it except a valuable mine of ore, he opened his inventory and brought out a couple of pickaxe and gave one to the skeleton
" start mining "
he ordered the skeleton and left the dungeon to hunt four more animals to use their corpse to summon skeletons to mine... Xiao Ling was lost in his own little world that he forgot about the outside world. By the time he was done with what he was doing and closed the dungeon portal leaving the skeletons to mine, the sun was already going down and it was almost time to make dinner. Xiao Ling hurriedly left the mountain and head back to the Riverside, he collected the washed clothes and returned back to the house to meet grandma and Du Shi who were staring at him as if they wanted to kill him at any moment and his second and third sister-in-laws laughing at him in bliss.
" Grandma, mother.....sorry for being late, there were some hard stains to wash off on the clothes that was why I couldn't finish early "
Xiao Ling hurriedly made up a story in other to avoid their scolding and insults.
" I'll cook dinner now "
he hurriedly went and put the clothes down and went into the kitchen, he washed the rice into the wok and added water before setting up the fire to boil. Xiao Ling set up the fire for the other stove, added enough oil for his taste in the other wok and stir fried the prepared vegetables and made the soup, the rice was cooked when he was done with everything. Just when he was preparing to serve the food Zhao Shi walked into the kitchen to help him serve, but she stared shocked at him when she saw the oil in the stir fried
" eldest sister-law, grandma and Du Shi will be angry when they see that you've used a lot of the oil in the stir fried... aren't you afraid to be scolded "
she asked as if concerned for him but deep down she couldn't wait to see what would be done to him by grandma and Du Shi, Xiao Ling rolled his eyes at her pretense and curled up his lips smiling brightly
" stir fry taste good when you put in enough oil...anyway let's start serving now "
Xiao Ling cut her off and started to serve the food to the table while they take their seats.... Xiao Ling took his seat next to YanZhi after he was done serving which earned him a lot of glares but he pretended not to see.
" the stir fry today taste very good...eldest sister-law truly your cooking is unique "
Zhao Shi said with a big smile trying to gain the attention of Grandma and Du Shi, Xiao Ling knew why she was doing that but chose to ignore her and focused on eating quietly. Grandma was angry when she tasted the stir fried but due to her son she decided to hold it in and deal with Xiao Ling later.
After dinner YanZhi grabbed Xiao Ling's hand which made him (XL) pulled his hand back instinctively, Xiao Ling felt embarrassed after he noticed what he had done and and lowered his head down defeatedly.
" come with me "
YanZhi walked towards their room with Xiao Ling following behind quietly, YanZhi sat on the bed and motioned Xiao Ling to take a seat next to him but Xiao Ling chose to stand which made YanZhi stared at him blankly but chose not to say anything.
" What did you want to talk about? "
YanZhi asked him after some minutes of silence.
" actually..I .... I wanted to ask you to divor.... "
" No! "
YanZhi denied before Xiao Ling could complete his words which startled Xiao Ling
" you didn't even let me finish"
Xiao Ling retaliated in a saddened tone
" I still would've denied "
YanZhi answered affirmatively which made Xiao Ling stared confused, ' wasn't he forced to marry? now I'm giving him a way out and he's refusing?!' Xiao Ling just couldn't understand.
" But...but why? " Xiao Ling asked in a muffled tone
" Because you're my wife!.... if that's what you wanted to talk about then we're done here, I'm going to take my bath first "
YanZhi said and walked out of the room before Xiao Ling could even react let alone say something, he stood there staring blankly at the path which YanZhi left in.
Xiao Ling walked back into the room after taking his bath to meet YanZhi laying on the bed with his back facing towards him... Xiao Ling sighed thinking he was asleep and walked to blow out the candle before he also laid down on his side of the bed with his back facing YanZhi. He slowly pulled the quilt and covered himself and stared into the darkness for a while feeling depressed before falling into a slumber. In the dark a pair of eyes opened as they flashed in the dark, YanZhi turned towards Xiao Ling as he listened to his leveled breath and the corner of his lips curled up
" what an interesting soul you are.... you've managed to piqued my interest little one, now you belong to me "
