Since her real identity had been exposed, Isla knew that the villagers wouldn't be able to behave freely with her, just like in the past. The only person who could come to her home without qualms was her ex-husband.
'How annoying.' Isla thought. Her gaze remained on the man who couldn't seem to stop staring at her.
''Mother?'' Isla jolted out of her inner fury and then turned back to her son, staring at her with worry.
''Damien…'' Fretting a bit, she closed the distance between them quite fast, and returned to the floor on her knees.
''Are you ready for school?'' She asked with a small smile, once again brushing his soft brown hair. But in her heart, she was cursing her ex-husband for making her forget her precious child for a brief moment.
