God, I didn't expect that everything that happened today wasn't just a bad dream. They were real, they happened to me and they still leave scars that are too real to deny.
This afternoon I woke up with throbbing pain in my cheek. At first I forgot what happened. And when I looked in the mirror I saw a bluish bruise on my right cheek. Instantly I cried when I saw my own reflection in the mirror. As bad as my dad was, he never raised his hand to hit me. And now I was beaten by my own future husband. How ironic.
I was even embarrassed to meet Uncle George and my mother at the dining table. Luckily they didn't ask me anything and just ate as usual. The twins' funny chatter managed to cheer me up. Jayde also looks more relaxed even though he has purple bruises on his face. Jayde confessed to the twins that he fell out of bed because he wasn't careful. The twins believed him easily because they liked Jayde from the start.
