Rosemary leaned against her wheelchair, sipping her morning coffee while observing the flurry of activity happening in her home. The usually serene atmosphere of her grand home was now filled with the sounds of hurried footsteps and whispered instructions. The servants scurried about, dusting furniture, polishing silverware, and arranging flowers as if preparing for an important guest's arrival.
She raised an eyebrow and looked at her daughter and son-in-law. Rosemary couldn't remember being informed about receiving a guest that day. Unbeknownst to her, the missing piece of her heart—the son she lost many years ago—was already found.
"What's got everyone in such a rush?" She asked them.
Adrienne and Lennox shared a knowing look. Hunter was returning home for the first time in three years, and this would be the first time he and their mother would also meet.
"Mom, I have something to tell you. Would you hear me out?" Adrienne asked her mother.
