As the meeting ended, the Qin family members started to leave one by one. Audrey and Jacob were the last ones to leave, with Audrey giving Adrienne a small smile as she carried her son out of the room. Adrienne couldn't help but feel a twinge of sadness for her. She knew what it was like to be in a loveless marriage and how difficult it was to appease your husband's family's demands.
Once they were alone, Lennox turned to his wife. "I'm sorry you had to endure my family's interrogation, love. They can be quite overwhelming."
Adrienne shook her head, placing a hand on his cheek. "There is no need to apologize. I'm here for you, always."
Lennox sighed and took her hand, leading her outside, where a limousine and bodyguards were waiting. His grandfather had already retired for the night and wouldn't be sending them off. The cool night air hit their faces, offering a refreshing respite from the stuffiness of the Qin mansion.
