"I'm not sure," Adrienne replied, staring into the distance. "They said my father is also missing, Myrtle. They don't know where he was or what happened to him."
"I have a bad feeling about this, Addie." Myrtle voiced her concern. "I don't want you to go through all of that shit all over again."
Lewis attacking Adrienne, causing her to fall into a month-long coma, had left everyone in a state of shock and panic. It was too traumatic for them even to consider the possibility of Adrienne experiencing it all over again. They all knew Lewis blamed her for everything that occurred to the Jiang family.
"Reschedule my appointments for this week, Myrtle. I want to stay at home in the meantime." Adrienne said. She understood why Myrtle was worried and didn't want to subject her and her family to more pain and suffering.
