Before Ariel's mating ritual started, Shen Nianzu was invited away to the building where he could have the best view, whereas Jin Jiuchi, Noir and Gu Luoxin were led towards the viewing platform near the seabed.
However, halfway through the journey, Jin Jiuchi, who had been strangely silent since the lunch banquet, suddenly took action and knocked the guard escorting them unconscious!
