At least in this regard, he was correct. It was futile for her to persist in trying to channel healing magic into his system, so she stopped. However, the moment she ceased channeling her magic, her entire body rebelled against her.
"...Rauul," she shuddered, "We must see him immediately," she said, feeling overwhelmed and uncertain about what to do.
"There has never been a more skilled Healer than you, Adelaide."
She shook her head, moving away from his touch, but his hand simply followed her movement. His words were the last thing she wanted to hear at that moment.
"There must be another option," she exclaimed, her teeth starting to chatter.
The serene smile on his face looked incongruous.
