Matt flew from Los Angeles to New York using all of his savings. He was already so poor that he couldn't afford lunch in case this audition failed, he had been able to stay in Los Angeles for so long because Graham Hubbard paid the landlord upfront for one year rent.
But he had this confidence that he would be accepted for this audition. After all, he got the privilege of having a private casting with the Producer and Director. He should be able to be the star now!
