Li Yifeng sighed. "Zhang Mei attacked me. Before I knew it, I blanked out and when I woke up, I saw myself in the hospital."
There was a moment of silence. Wang Yuling's eyes narrowed. "Do you honestly expect me to believe that?" she asked.
"I'm telling the truth," Li Yifeng said earnestly. "We can have a video call right now. You can see for yourself."
"Do it," Wang Yuling said, challenging him.
Li Yifeng switched the call to video mode. Wang Yuling's face came into view. She looked stunning, as always, with her long black hair and red lips. Li Yifeng felt a pang of longing in his chest.
He moved the phone around, showing her the hospital room. "See? I'm not lying," he said. "You can see the bandages on my head and the IV drip on my arm."
