While the four of them were having a good time, it was a different story on the other side of the room. She clenched her chopsticks and hissed, "What does he see in that bitch? I'm richer and hotter than her. She doesn't deserve him. I have to make her life miserable."
"Xiao Mei," one of her friends called out to her, but she didn't respond. She was too busy plotting in her mind. She thought, "Maybe I could sabotage her grades. Or make her break out. Or…"
She was so absorbed in her evil schemes that she didn't notice her friend tapping her on the shoulder. The chopsticks in Xiao Mei hand snapped, startling everyone around her.
Xiao Mei felt a sudden jolt of pain shot through her hand, breaking her concentration. She cursed and flung the chopsticks away from her hand. It landed on the table with a loud clatter, knocking over a cup. "What the hell is wrong with this thing?"
