Zoran grimly nodded. He knew that his life was in Devon's hands no matter what Nikolai did. Nobody was able to stop what was already fated to happen. The only way for Nikolai to cut his contract with Devon was if he died first. Doing so would allow Nikolai to break the life and death contract Zoran had over him.
Thinking about it… That Seer's vision made sense now...
Resigned, Zoran lovingly stared at his wife whose eyes were still closed. She truly followed whatever it was that he would tell her to do. He knew she was trying her best not to feed Devon with her fear, especially since he could feel how he could easily overpower that dark energy inside of her.
With one last flourish, he siphoned away all of the dark energy inside of her body. The deed was done. Now the only thing he had to do was wait.
