Hildie escorted the doctor to the front door and silently pointed for him to leave. She slammed the front entrance shut, making the doctor flinch. He mounted his stallion and steadfastly made his way back to town. Praying his self-centred little heart out that he had not been infected with the plague.
A deep sigh fled Hildie's lips as she walked back to Allison's room and stood outside the door, pondering what she should do next. She suspected that no matter where she turned for help, she would be met with the same dilemma. No one would want to come, and if they did, they wouldn't stay to help.
Now, she also had concerns about if she was infected and, if what she had been told in the past was true. Also, she had just been to see Sonya, and now there was a worry she may have put her innocent friend in harm, too.
