Sterling lay back in the bed, closing his eyes. He placed his hands behind his head and stared up into the bed's canopy.
In her exhaustion, Faye sank her body over his chest, and they both lay there in silence, with only the sound of their steady breathing filling the room.
Faye let out a heavy sigh through her lips, "Huh!" still trying to catch her breath, her heart thumping in her chest to the rhythm of his.
She felt his sculpted arm move to come around and draw her closer to him.
"Is everything okay? Are you in pain?"
He tenderly kissed the top of her head, his lips not moving from their place till she answered.
"I'm sore and tired. But it is a good sore." She admitted. "Other than that, all is well."
Sterling felt relief at her reply, and his other hand came gently gliding over his chest, delicately lifting a silky lock of her hair. With a subtle twist, he felt its smoothness dance between his fingers.
