While Sterling sat with Faye in his arms, he felt her anxious words rumble through his chest. His body stiffened at her question.
"What is to stop him from taking over your body again and not giving it back?"
Faye felt Sterling's chest rise and fall beneath her head as he took a deep breath and exhaled.
"I don't have an answer for that right now, Butterfly. I am hoping when we return to Inreus for your training, I might get some answers from Friar Tillis."
Faye sat up and asked, "When will leave here?" He could hear the tension in her words.
"In three days…I was just looking over a report from Everton and I have to return soon. I am about to negotiate a deal with the miller's guild. It will bring a new revenue source to Everton and make it financially independent, no longer needing help from the empire."
"The deligation has already arrived at the fortress and is settling in."
